The UCLA Chorale has been invited to perform the monumental Verdi Requiem with the nationally renowned Arizona Musicfest this February! This is a tremendous honor for UCLA and for our students, who will have the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to perform with world-class musicians from the New York Philharmonic, Metropolitan Opera Orchestra, and the Chicago & Cleveland Symphonies. Each of our 115 UCLA undergraduate and graduate students is incredibly excited by this opportunity. In past years, UCLA choirs have made special guest appearances at Carnegie Hall and the American Choral Director’s Association National Conference. This will also be our first time as a choir in Arizona!
UCLA Choral Music has been praised by music educators across the nation and abroad as being the ultimate expression of the choral art. In addition to presenting worthwhile concerts each quarter, In spring 2008, the UCLA Choral Music toured China with performances in Beijing and Shanghai!
UCLA choirs and you, our appreciative audience, deserve the very best. State funding cuts have reduced our operating budget to nearly zero.
UCLA and the AZ Musicfest are contributing toward the cost of this tour, but we are still in need of $200 per student. Your tax-deductible donation will help our students have a world class musical experience that they will never forget!
